Miranda IM 0.4.0.3 Build 38 (Windows, Open Source, 1.1MB) [via FileForum] is a multi protocol instant messenger client for Windows. It is designed to be resource efficient and easy to use. It uses very little memory, requires no installation and can easily be carried around on a single floppy disc. The goal of this project is not to duplicate the functionality of AOL's ICQ Client, but to design a client that has the basic features that is designed for mouse-less operation with a small memory requirement.
Ced's Note: Miranda IM is my current and favorite IM Client. It supports Yahoo, Hotmail, ICQ, Google (via Jabber), AIM, and IRC. I used to use Trillian, but I prefer Miranda IM's small download size, and its "no install" feature (just unzip and run) which lets you use it in your USB flash drive.
