DestroyTwitter Twitter Client, updated to 2.0.2

DestroyTwitter 2.0.2 is a complete rewrite of the previous 1.7 version. It is a cross-platform Twitter client (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Requires Adobe Air.

Changes:

  • [Added] Close to system tray preference (pc only)
  • [Added] Ctrl+Tab / Ctrl+Shift+Tab to navigate
  • [Fixed] URL linking doesn't include accents
  • [Fixed] Preference menu positions are wrong
  • [Fixed] Profile drawer doesn't support unicode
  • [Fixed] Correcting word doesn't update char count
  • [Fixed] Refresh type coercion runtime error

I like the new changes made. Hovering on an entry will show a reply icon and a drop-down icon. Tweaking for the major columns: Home, Mention, Search, and Messages, are done individually via a drop-down menu.

This is one of my favorite Twitter clients. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a spin! You might like what you see. ;)

Tomato 1.27 – Alternative Firmware for Your Router

Tomato 1.27 (Windows, Open Source, 2.72MB) [alt DL] is a small, lean and simple replacement firmware for Linksys' WRT54G/GL/GS, Buffalo WHR-G54S/WHR-HP-G54 and other Broadcom-based routers. It features a new easy to use GUI, a new bandwidth usage monitor, more advanced QOS and access restrictions, enables new wireless features such as WDS and wireless client modes, raises the limits on maximum connections for P2P, allows you to run your custom scripts or telnet/ssh in and do all sorts of things like re-program the SES/AOSS button, adds wireless site survey to see your wifi neighbors, and more.

Change: Fixed DDNS "-1" error when service used HTTPS.

If you have the supported routers, and would like to try something else other than DD-WRT, Tomato is the one for you. I wished that Tomato supported more hardware, though.

PeerBlock 1.0+ r187 – Protect Your Computer from Online Trolls

PeerBlock 1.0+ r187 (Windows, Open Source, 1.86MB) lets you control who your computer "talks to" on the Internet.  By selecting appropriate lists of "known bad" computers, you can block communication with advertising or spyware oriented servers, computers monitoring your p2p activities, computers which have been "hacked", even entire countries!  They can't get in to your computer, and your computer won't try to send them anything either.

Changes:

  • Redirectable URLs - From here on in, all Interim Releases will bring you directly to the page for the latest Interim Release when a new version is detected.  Previously, we'd just take you to the Dev Blog and leave you on your own.
  • List Manager UI Tweak - Changed the "Open List" button and the "Open..." right-click menu entry to be "View" instead, to match what we've got up in the top section.
  • No Duplicate Lists - We now should be correctly handling list entries, so that you don't end up with duplicate lists.  This was mostly a problem if you added a list via checkbox and also via the dropdown list.
  • Sorted Lists - Dynamic lists should now be sorted (by description) whenever opening/closing the List Manager.
  • New Tray-menu Items - Added "Help" and "Support" entries to the right-click menu for the system-tray icon, taking you to our online User Manual and Forums sites, respectively.
  • Updated Credits - Updated the credits to make sure everyone who's contributed to PeerBlock 1.0 received the credit they're due.
  • Don't Install Manual - On new installations, the User Manual will no longer be installed locally to your machine.  If you're upgrading from a previous version, the manual files will be deleted.
  • About Window Tweak - The "Launch Homepage" button on the "About" window now takes you to www.peerblock.com, instead of our old sites.google.com hosted page.
  • Installer Tweaks - The installer now has a PeerBlock icon!  Also, removed the "License" shortcut from the Start Menu.

PeerBlock is a fork of the PeerGuardian2 software.

TightVNC 1.3.10 – Open Source Remote Control Software Package

TightVNC 1.3.10 (Windows, Open Source, 1.36MB) [alt DL] is a free remote control software package derived from the popular VNC software. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.

Changes:

  • Windows Server: Impersonating currently logged on user while processing file transfer requests. Disabling file transfers if current user is unknown or nobody is logged in.
  • Windows Server: Fixed rendering problems when multiple CopyRects were combined with normal updates. That could caused distortions that never updated even with full-screen polling active.
  • Windows Server: Added new "-silent" command-line option which modifies the behavior of -install, -reinstall and -remove options and makes them not show informational windows on successful execution. Note that -silent should precede other respective options in the command line.
  • Windows Server: LastRect, XCursor and RichCursor pseudo-encodings were not properly enabled if they preceded true encodings in the SetEncodings protocol message.
  • Windows Viewer: Fixed integer overflow vulnerabilities reported by Core Security Technologies. A specially modified VNC server could currupt the heap of the connected viewer causing its crash or malfunction.
  • Windows Viewer: TightVNC Viewer version 1.3.9 saved only successful connections in the list of recently visited VNC servers. Now we save unsuccessful connections too so that users would not ever have to re-type server names after connection failures. Also, several other enhancements were made to the code which handles the list of recent connections.
  • Windows Viewer: Fixed a bug with not loading passwords from saved .vnc files correctly if the first byte of their encrypted representation was zero.
  • Windows Viewer: Fixed problems under Windows Vista where Windows taskbar could remain visible above the full-screen window.
  • Windows Viewer: Fixed a problem with decoding JPEG rectangles wider than 2048 pixels.
