The Gimp 2.6.2 – Open Source Image Manipulation Software

The Gimp 2.6.2 (Windows, Open Source, 15MB) [alt DL] is a multiplatform photo manipulation tool. GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. The GIMP is suitable for a variety of image manipulation tasks, including photo retouching, image composition, and image construction.

Also available for Linux.

Bugs fixed:

  • Scaling in Gimp 2.6 is much slower than in Gimp 2.4
  • unit and zoom entries in Statusbar not visible
  • Cannot build GIMP using Sun CC on Solaris 2.8
  • projection incorrect with alpha-less layers
  • Zoom region always zooms in center of image
  • "Qmask" message popping up here and there
  • compatibility with GEGL > 0.0.20
  • Scaling gives 'jagged' edges
  • Zoom drop down doesn't update
  • Print not to scale
  • gimp crashes when a file is opened while a preview is generating
  • Alpha layer automatically added (in psd format)
  • Could you please explain a few strings [I18N]
  • build fails if configured with --without-libjpeg
  • Curves tool doesn't save free curves
