The GIMP 2.6.1 – Open Source Image Editing Program

The GIMP 2.6.1 (Windows, Open Source, 15MB) [alt DL] is a multiplatform photo manipulation tool. GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. The GIMP is suitable for a variety of image manipulation tasks, including photo retouching, image composition, and image construction.

Also available for Linux.

Bugs fixed:

  • PSD file crashes PSD plug-in
  • PSD Load Plugin: unsupported compression mode
  • gimp-remote is not working properly
  • some gif files will not be open
  • JPEG Save Options Dialog does not remember
  • Gimp crashes creating a new image using a template
  • Compile failure on uri-backend-libcurl
  • Opening Help crashes GIMP with lqr-plugin installed
  • centering issues after image scaling and setting zoom
  • Compile failure on uri-backend-wget.c
