WinSCP 4.0.4 - Free SFTP and SCP Client

WinSCP 4.0.4 (Windows, Open Source, 1.9MB) [download via FileForum] is freeware SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) and SCP (Secure CoPy) client for Windows using SSH (Secure Shell). Its main purpose is safe copying files between local and remote computer. Beyond this basic function, it manages some other actions with files. It can do all basic operations with files, such as copying and moving. It also allows you to rename files and folders, create new folders, change properties of files and folders. One of two selectable program interfaces allows user to manage files even on local computer. Most operations can be done recursively for files in folders.

Changes:

  • Fallback to simple FTP LIST command, when LIST -a fails
  • Workaround for bug in Windows Vista preventing selection of files with keyboard
  • Offline network drives are not scanned on startup to prevent long delays before a main window is shown
  • Improved security when handling URL's (from web browser)
  • Bug fix: When connection was broken during automatic transfers, program stalled for few seconds
  • Bug fix: Instability the connection was dropped while keep remote directory up to date function was running
  • Bug fix: Malformed prompt for username in scripting
  • Bug fix: Second opened session with enabled SSH tunnel (with automatic selection of tunnel port) actually used the existing tunnel of first session
  • Bug fix: Memory leak when SSH connection is refused
  • Bug fix: When username is not specified on login dialog, password typing is revealed on authentication dialog

Hi! I use WinSCP when I’m home and I think it’s great!
But when I’m at work I use different pc’s and I cannot install WinSCP (only admin can) . So therefore I use http://www.loelink.com
It’s a online version of WinSCP. It does the same, but then online. Really a handy tool!
