Pidgin 2.2.0 (previously called Gaim) (Windows, Open Source, 11.4MB) [d/l via Filehippo] is a multi-protocol instant messaging (IM) client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM and ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, GroupWise Messenger, and Zephyr networks.
Also available for Linux.
Changes:
- contains the results of several major Google Summer
of Code branches bringing some new, extraordinary features. - new protocol, MySpaceIM
- a bunch of new features for an existing protocol, XMPP
- nifty new certificate management to make sure your IM server is who it says it is.
Personally, I prefer to wait for the portable version to come out.
