Lifehacker's Top 10 Ubuntu Apps

Lifehacker.com has its Top 10 Favorite Ubuntu Linux Applications. (Thanks to Joel for the tip.)

"Today we've chosen our favorite ten Ubuntu software applications that are exclusive to GNU/Linux." [Lifehacker.com]

The list is as follows:

  1. Automatix (installer)
  2. AmaroK (jukebox)
  3. Samba (file sharing)
  4. gParted (disk partition utility)
  5. Kopete (IM client)
  6. Liferea (feed reader)
  7. Katapult (program launcher)
  8. Brightside (mouse gestures)
  9. Checkgmail (email notifier)
  10. Beryl (desktop graphics)

I'll try these apps soon. Currently, I only use one of the ten: Liferea. Since I use Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux on a single PC (dual boot), I definitely should try Checkgmail.
