Lifehacker.com has its Top 10 Favorite Ubuntu Linux Applications. (Thanks to Joel for the tip.)
"Today we've chosen our favorite ten Ubuntu software applications that are exclusive to GNU/Linux." [Lifehacker.com]
The list is as follows:
- Automatix (installer)
- AmaroK (jukebox)
- Samba (file sharing)
- gParted (disk partition utility)
- Kopete (IM client)
- Liferea (feed reader)
- Katapult (program launcher)
- Brightside (mouse gestures)
- Checkgmail (email notifier)
- Beryl (desktop graphics)
I'll try these apps soon. Currently, I only use one of the ten: Liferea. Since I use Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux on a single PC (dual boot), I definitely should try Checkgmail.
