Remove QuickTime Icon From System Tray

Installing Quicktime defaults to installing the Quicktime icon on the system tray. This is how to get rid of it: [source: Tech-Recipes.com]

  1. Right-click on the quicktime icon in the system tray
  2. Select QuickTime Preferences
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. Uncheck Install QuickTime icon in system tray
  5. Click OK

Removing the icon would not affect your PC's ability to use iTunes or play quicktime files.
