WINE 0.9.20 (Linux) is a translation layer (a program loader) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX compatible operating systems. Windows programs running in Wine act as native programs would, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a similar look and feel to other applications on your desktop.
Recent changes:
- XEmbed system tray support.
- Many improvements to NTLM support.
- Many messages made localizable instead of hardcoded to English.
- Improved support for various OpenGL platforms.
- More improvements to the IDL compiler.
- Lots of bug fixes.
It is reported that there are Linux users able to play World of Warcraft and Half Life 2 via WINE.
