Bart's PE Builder 3.1.9 - Create a Live Windows CD

Bart's PE Builder 3.1.9 (Windows, Freeware, 3.19MB) [via FileForum] helps you build a bootable Windows CD-Rom or DVD from Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 very suitable for PC maintenance tasks. It will give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, a graphical user interface (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS filesystem support. Very handy for burn-in testing systems with no OS, rescuing files to a network share, virus scan and so on.

Updates:

  • Made the plugin and build dialog bigger
  • When adding a custom folder, the build log showed "Error: Adding custom directory: {path}", while everything was fine - fixed
  • Plugin\starwind, forgot to add it in previous version
  • Plugin\deepburner, forgot to add some files in previous version
  • Lang\english.lng: updated, the following language numbers: 24
  • Lang\dutch.lng: updated to reflect change to english.lng

Bart's PE is a great addition to your software toolbox. If your current Windows box suddenly goes south and refuses to boot, you can use Bart's PE to boot the machine, and save/transfer your important files to another media. After having backups of your data, you can now format and make a fresh install of Windows.
