Xint 3.4 (Windows, Freeware, 835KB) [via SnapFiles] is an alternative to Windows notepad, that looks very similar, but in fact offers dozens of additional features. They include additional formatting options (URL encoding, CSV conversion, HTML stripping, A-Z sorting), as well as browser preview, word count, case conversions and more. Xint also includes an enhanced search and replace features, a hex color picker, date insert and more. In addition, the program even includes a built-in encryption feature, allowing you to secure a file, using 160-bit Twofish encryption.
Ced's Note: Xint would be great as a replacement for MS Notepad. If you need a text editor that also supports programming files (HTML, Java, PHP, Perl, etc.), I also suggest trying Crimson Editor.
