GreatNews 1.0 Beta (Windows, Freeware, 900KB) by Curio Studio is a fast feed reader that supports all major feed formats, including RSS 0.9x, 1.0(rdf), 2.0, Atom 0.30 and 1.0.
Features:
* Full Page reading
* Built-in ergonomic display styles (Brief, Essay, Firefox Sage, Newspaper, Readability, Simple)
* Channel Statistics
* News Watch
* Article labeling
* Channel Search
* RSS/OPML auto-discovery
* Integrated internet browser, with popup blocking
* Channel Subscription Import/Export wizard
* Export rss articles to rss 2.0 format
* Bloglines.com integration
* 100% Unicode support
* Channel Organizer
The application has lots of very useful features to make it easier to read and organize your feeds. You can group your feeds into folders, import/export your channels from/to OPML/XML files, label feeds with custom labels, and set different update durations, to name a few great features. With the display styles, you can configure how you would like to browse your feeds. (Firefox Sage users will be delighted with the Firefox Sage display style!)
What's more is that the program does not need MS .NET Framework. It can be installed using the Windows Installer, or unzipped and run immediately (can be used in a USB drive). And yes, it's free!
I've tried a few feed readers, but now, GreatNews is my preferred reader.
